We are an online platform that connects Owners (people who offer outdoor activities) with Guests (people looking for adventures).

By using our website, you agree to follow these Terms and Conditions.

2. What We Do

The Hiker’s Hub:

• Helps Guests find hiking trails, events, and outdoor adventures
• Allows Guests to book activities offered by Owners
• Processes payments on behalf of Owners

Important:
The Hiker’s Hub does not organise, manage, or run any activities.
We only connect Owners and Guests.

3. Guest Responsibility

When a Guest books or joins an activity, they agree that:

• They are responsible for their own safety
• They understand that outdoor activities can be risky
• They are physically and medically able to take part
• They will follow all instructions given by the Owner

Guests must read all activity details carefully before booking.

4. Owner Responsibility

Owners are responsible for:

• Running their activities safely
• Providing correct and honest information
• Having the correct permits, qualifications, and insurance

The Hiker’s Hub does not control or manage how Owners run their activities.

5. Payments

• All payments are made through The Hiker’s Hub
• The platform holds the payment and sends it to the Owner after the activity is completed
• Prices are set by the Owner

The Hiker’s Hub may charge service or commission fees.

6. Cancellations and Refunds

• Each Owner sets their own cancellation policy
• Refunds depend on the Owner’s rules
• Some bookings may not be refundable

Guests must check cancellation terms before booking.

7. Risks and Safety

Outdoor activities may include risks such as:

• Injury or accidents
• Weather changes
• Difficult terrain
• Wildlife encounters

By using The Hiker’s Hub, Guests accept these risks.

8. Liability Waiver and Release (Very Important)

By using The Hiker’s Hub and booking any activity, the Guest agrees to the following:

8.1 Assumption of Risk

The Guest understands that outdoor and adventure activities can be dangerous and may involve:

• Injury or serious harm
• Illness or medical emergencies
• Permanent disability
• Death
• Loss or damage to personal property

The Guest freely accepts and takes full responsibility for all risks, whether known or unknown.

8.2 Platform Role (No Responsibility)

The Hiker’s Hub is only an online platform that connects Guests with Owners.

We do not:

• Organise or run activities
• Supervise Owners
• Guarantee safety or quality

8.3 Full Release of Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law:

The Hiker’s Hub, its owners, employees, partners, and affiliates will not be held liable for:

• Any injury, illness, or death
• Loss or damage to property
• Any accident or incident
• Any act or failure by an Owner
• Any cancellation, delay, or change

8.4 Indemnity

The Guest agrees to indemnify and hold harmless The Hiker’s Hub from any claims, damages, losses, or legal costs arising from:

• Participation in activities
• Their own actions
• Claims made against the platform because of the Guest

8.5 Owner Responsibility

All activities are run by independent Owners.

The Guest agrees that:

• The agreement is between the Guest and the Owner
• The Owner is fully responsible for the activity
• The Hiker’s Hub is not part of that agreement

8.6 Personal Responsibility

The Guest confirms that:

• They are physically and medically fit
• They will follow all safety instructions
• They take full responsibility for their actions and decisions

8.7 No Warranties

The Hiker’s Hub does not guarantee:

• Safety of activities
• Accuracy of listings
• Performance of Owners

All services are provided “as is”.

8.8 Maximum Legal Protection

This clause applies to the maximum extent allowed by South African law.

If any part is not valid, the rest will still apply.

9. Information on the Platform

• Owners are responsible for their listings
• The Hiker’s Hub does not guarantee all information is always correct

10. Account Use

When using an account:

• Keep your login details safe
• Do not share your account
• Provide correct information

The Hiker’s Hub may suspend accounts that break these rules.

11. Fair Use

You agree not to:

• Use the platform for illegal activities
• Post false or misleading information
• Harm other users or the platform
